Online retailing shows the greatest growth

In a study commissioned by LetsTalk.com, Wirthlin Worldwide polled a random sampling of Americans to find out where they intend to buy their next wireless phone. The LetsTalk survey was conducted between March 1 and March 4, 2002 and interviewed a representative sample of 1,004 Americans age 18 or older. Each respondent was asked, "Where would you prefer to buy your next cell phone?"

"Just 2 years ago, analysts reported that online sales for wireless devices accounted for just 1% of all activations. LetsTalk's poll indicates that number could swell to 7%, validating analysts' opinions that the online channel will continue to experience tremendous growth," said Delly Tamer, CEO and president of LetsTalk.com.

Tamer will further explore the results of the survey in the panel entitled "Point of Purchase" at this year's CTIA Global Wireless 2002 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida on March 19 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in room 307A. CTIA Wireless 2002 is the largest and most comprehensive wireless trade show in the United States.
