TDK Corp. has developed and commercialized a MODEM/DIGITAL Cellular phone card. On this new MODEM/DIGITAL card, for the first time in this field, a data/FAX communication function with the highest speed of 9600bps to be connected to a digital cellular phone, and a modem function with the highest speed of 33600bps via public lines are packed into a single card. TDK is due to launch the new card in July 1997.

The modem card is a multi-functional combo card equipped with the DATA/FAX MODEM and DATA/FAX communication functions by digital cellular phone, packed into a 5 mm thick business card by TDK's high density mounting technology.

The MODEM part conforms to the specification (data communication at the highest speed of 33,600 bps) conforming to ITU-T V.34, while FAX communication is possible at the highest speed of 14,400 bps. Mounted with V.42bis/MNP5, V.42/MNP2-4,10 etc., the MODEM card provides a highly reliable communication environment.
