April 17, 2005 By: Yannick Allan IXI Mobile And JABRA Partner To Bring Bluetooth Hands-free DevicesIXI Mobile and JABRA Corporation today announced a strategic partnership to enable JABRA’s Bluetooth hands-free devices for mobile phones to work with the Personal Mobile Gateway (PMG). The PMG is a micro router and micro server that is the single cellular connection for a variety of Bluetooth devices consumers carry or wear. IXI Mobile was founded by industry veterans with extensive experience in Bluetooth technology. The vision of these founders is to utilise Bluetooth most efficiently and cost effectively by creating the PMG, a pocket-sized device that combines cellular communications capabilities with Bluetooth. “Bluetooth is a powerful enabler for a variety of stylish devices,” said Amit Haller, Founder and CEO of IXI Mobile. “By facilitating Bluetooth interoperability at the application-level, we are blazing the trail for manufacturers, such as JABRA, to develop a variety of sleek new low-cost devices. These devices can be function-optimised, cost-effective, and seamlessly connected within a Personal Area Network.” For example, a consumer could have a completely new variety of Bluetooth-enabled devices such as a cellular phone, instant messaging device and a JABRA headset all connected into a Personal Area Network sharing a single cellular connection.
