(FCSI) has introduced a new family of GaAs MMIC’s designed to reduce the manufacturing costs of Cellular terminal phones. Using enhancement-mode GaAs FET processing, FCSI has truly eliminated the dual supply requirement of phone manufacturers using high performance GaAs products. With fewer components necessary (no need for a drain switch or negative voltage generator) the phones will have lower overall manufacturing costs, while maintaining product performance. This family of components serves a broad range of Cellular and WLL applications including GSM, AMPS, TDMA, and CDMA. In addition to the cost savings by the phone manufacturers’ operations, these devices are available in a very low thermal resistance, ultra small plastic package (16 pin / SSOP-16 compatible), which minimizes the product cost. To support the growing 800 MHz WLL market, FCSI is also introducing the dual supply FMM5501ZE for these applications. These products are manufactured by Fujitsu Quantum Devices, Limited in one of the world’s largest compound semiconductor operations which is located in Kofu City, Japan. These operations are ISO 9002 certified, with support facilities strategically located throughout the world for assembly and test. Fujitsu performs 100% testing to ensure quality and reliability.
