EC Research Corp. announced mobile search site "SOFTBANK V" number of users In August

The market research company focusing specially on e business, EC RESEARCH CORP. announced the results of a research on number of mobile Internet users* for August, 2001, which accessed a greatest-scale magazine interlock type search link-site in Japan "SOFTBANK V" run by SOFTBANK Publishing Corp. (SBP, Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Makoto Okazaki) via mobile (cellular phone) Internet.

The number of mobile Internet users who accessed SOFTBANK V from i-mode ("au" and "J-Phone" are included in part) became 3,400,491 from August 1, 2001 to 31. There was most use of the interlocking site of SBP's magazine theme, and it was 1,011,942 (29.8%). As for the 2nd place, search site by genre that has a general tree structure is 694,137 (20.4%). Since screen size of cellular phones is small, the user as the searching process accepts the method of using in accordance with the information on a magazine.

The 3rd place is the external site search which inputs the numerical code (=V code**) of five digits carried by the SBP magazine, and the number of users has become 550,012 (16.2%). The 4th place was use of a wait-mode screen, and was 456,751 (13.4%). On a wait-mode screen, users can capture "idol wait-mode screen", such as Ryoko Hirosue, a "Girls snap shot", "a daily illustration", etc. Following 4th position, "Entertainment & communities", such as "cellular-phone related information", "how to use mail tools", "face mark and a pictorial symbol", and "i-mode and i-mode cell phone model information", "a questionnaire", and "present and shopping gourmet and i-appli (i-mode application), and "information of other SOFTBANK V sites".
