Cobite Cellular Management Looks at Ways to Reduce Costs

Since 1988, Cobite has helped clients to develop and manage complex communications infrastructures. Cobite Cellular now offers complete outsourcing services for cellular management. Cost containment has been a particular area of focus.

In November 2003, Cobite Cellular published a white paper that explored ways for companies to reduce the costs of their cellular service. In this paper, Cobite details how companies can save money though optimizing cellular service plans and improving management of cellular devices. Cobite also offers suggestions on effective contract negations. Costs can also be reduced through implementing timesaving office procedures. According to Cobite, companies can save as much as 25 percent to 60 percent buy applying these guidelines to their cellular systems.

They focuses on helping companies track and manage cell phone communications. In 2002, corporations spent more than $37 billion on cellular services and equipment. Cobite has developed extensive models and tools that can help even very large corporations effectively track the use and cost of each cell phone.

Cobite has developed eXprts™, a web-based system that analyzes and optimizes cell phone management. In a case study outlined on it’s web site, the company shows how eXprts™ helped one company save 62 percent of its monthly cellular costs. Savings came largely through eliminating unused phones and optimizing cellular service. At the sample company, Corbite found that more than 25 percent of their cell phones were unused, but they were still paying for service on these devices. Cobite helped another company save 41 percent by renegotiating the contract with its cellular service provider.
