And their popularity as a mobile choice sees many promotions for free camera phones. But the idea of being offered a new, free camera phone might seem suspicious - why should the cellular service provider give you something free like an otherwise quite costly phone with an integrated digital camera anyway? Well first you have to sign up for either a one or two year contract the calling plans from the relevant company, and if you want out before time’s up then a termination fee will apply - which could be anything up to $200. And there’s usually an activation fee to contend with as well before you can use the call plan on your free phone with its camera. Another thing to be aware of is that some (not all) cell dealers who offer a free promotion only let you sign up for the more expensive services and plans from the carriers and don’t tell you that a more affordable package might be available, so consult reviews and comparisons first. And the rebates nearly always break up the `price’ of the free phone. That is - a $150 rebate might be split into three individual $50 rebates; sometimes with different times, conditions and rules. So comparing ratings of plans and camera phones to see which is among the best is a must before you sign for your free offer, as then you can get a better deal anyway when you realize that free is not free at all in the long run.
